Join The Family - Step 3

WALK Church Shared Family Covenant

Affirmation of Faith

Having been saved and set free to walk in Jesus, through repentance and faith, and having been baptized upon our profession of faith, we covenant together as a church family today with this acknowledgment and these promises:

Acknowledgment

We acknowledge that in joining this family, if we came from a different church, we left that house of worship in an honoring way, as far as it depended on us

Promises

We will love and forgive one another as Christ has loved and forgiven us

We will strive to grow in Christlikeness and help our family members grow along the journey

We will make the spiritual disciplines of Bible reading and prayer a regular practice within our lives

We will not forsake regularly gathering together for corporate worship services

We will strive to maintain unity and right relationships with one another. If unity between family members becomes broken, we will make every effort to reconcile with one another and make the relationship right again through biblical principles

We will live a lifestyle, both publicly and privately, that honors and glorifies Christ and the reputation of His bride, the church

We will pray for the pastoral leadership team at WALK Church, while also humbly submitting ourselves to their teaching and shepherding

We will honor our brothers and sisters with our words and actions, both in public and private. We choose not to slander or gossip about our family members

We will make a difference in our church by using our God-given gifts and abilities to serve, and we will be open to serving opportunities in our community, city, and around the world, as led by the Lord

We will be generous with the resources God has given to us through tithing and giving out of the overflow of what He has placed in our hearts

We will joyfully live out the mission, vision, and values of WALK Church to the best of our ability

We will commit to being upfront and transparent if the time comes to move on from this house. We commit to leave honorably and to have a conversation with one of our pastors in advance. We commit further to find a Bible-believing, Gospel-proclaiming church to join as soon as possible

As members of the church, we agree to adhere to church bi-laws that say, in partial, “Members of the church are expected to conduct their lives in accordance with biblical standards of holiness as they grow to become more like Christ. When a member knowingly, blatantly and publicly ignores the direct commands and prohibitions of Scripture, principles of discipline and restoration will be applied.”
